Google Sheets keyboard shortcuts

Sheets is easiest to use when the selection stays in the grid. These shortcuts move through cells, edit formulas and values, format a range, and open the tools that change how data is handled.

Sheets works best when the active cell stays under your hands. Start with navigation and selection, then move through editing, formatting, formulas, and the data commands that change a range into useful work.

Editing cells

Enter values and formulas, fill or repeat them, and undo changes while staying in the sheet.

Make the useful keys stick

The useful Sheets habit is small and physical: keep the selection moving, edit in place, and let the grid stay under your hands. Learn a couple of keys from the section you use most, then return when a new kind of work appears.

You do not need this whole page in your head. Pick two shortcuts that remove a repeated hand movement, use them until they feel ordinary, and come back for the next pair.
